I HAVE AN MPC 2000XL AND THE MBOX2. WHEN IM TRACKING MY BEAT, ALL OF MY INSTRUMENTS RECORD PERFECTLY, BUT MY KICK DRUM ALWAYS CLIP ON THE 1ST BAR. I DONT WANT TO CREATE A FADE BECUZ IT WILL TAKE AWAY FROM THE ATTACK OF THE KICK. COULD ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM?

Re: KICK DRUM CLIPPING, EVERY THING ELSE FINE
laboya,
-Welcome to the DUC forums.. -Might wanna turn your caps lock off -Try to record at lower level; if already printed..use a gain plugin or automate the track. Happy tooling,

Re: KICK DRUM CLIPPING, EVERY THING ELSE FINE
Since I see this is your first posting, I will assume you are new to PT. Highlite the kick track and go to the Audiosuite menu and select the GAIN plugin>set it to -2 (make sure "use in playlist" is highlited on the plugin) and click "process". Click on the clip indicator to clear it and play the track again. If the clip still lights, click Ctrl-Z to undo and redo it with a lower gain setting till you get the track to stop clipping. Keep in mind that, if you add plugins (inserted) such as EQ or compressors, you can still make the track slip again(from too much EQ boost or compressor gain). BTW, using caps-lock is called YELLING.

Re: KICK DRUM CLIPPING, EVERY THING ELSE FINE
You can also try just copying a better-recorded kick from somewhere else in the song and pasting it over the offending kick.
