Default HDX Card Fan is dead

Hey all,

I have an HDX card that started giving me the warning that the fan might be malfunctioning, please shut down and contact AVID Tech support. Ok, I did. Card is 13 1/2 months old and they only offer a 1 year warranty. Cards are $3k, and they want $1k to fix -- when it COULD be JUST the fan. Sheesh!

Anyone know how to find out what fan it is and how to source it? Anyone replaced the fans on their HDX card?

Computer is in a temp-controlled machine room. I can take the cover off the computer and put a clip-on fan onto the cards easily., But I'd rather replace the fan.

Thanks for any advice/leads.

Tom

Can’t help you with the fix buddy, but I’d be well pi£&ed off if I’d have paid 3k for a HD card and it failed just after a year !!!!

Was helpfully lead to a fan source where I can replace it myself.

Here is a helpful link for others, just look for a repair place in your area:
