Interesting observation regarding waveform views...
Hi,
I started using Pro Tools at version 7 (M-Powered) a few years ago. I remember the GUI looking very boring and dull compared to the vivid colors of Cubase! What i am remember is the way the waveforms looked, which was very thin and quite different than that of Cubase, which seemed to be very different. When Pro Tools 8 came out, the waveforms changed again, as did the rest of the GUI, and the waveforms looked brilliant. A lot easier on the eyes, and i found easier overall for editing. When Pro Tools 9 arrived, the waveforms were about the only thing (visually) that i could really tell a difference in. They came back to the thin and 'old' style views, which i dont really mind, but i was used to the newly designed ones for nearly 2 years! Anyway, to cut a long story short, i've noticed that if i trash my prefs in PT9 after an install, i actually get back the waveform views of Pro Tools 8, which are thick bold in colour. Can anyone that has a fresh copy of Pro Tools 9 installed (OSX or Windows) trash their prefs and tell me if their waveforms look any different? Here is a picure of my waveforms now after trashing prefs (ala PT8): http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/593/16739727.jpg/ Unfortunatly i can't show you how it looked before, but if anyone can remember the look from Pro Tools 7 or below, its similar to that! |

Re: Interesting observation regarding waveform views...
wow, thanks tom. Never noticed that setting before!
I was thinking it had something to do with graphics drivers or something! I've left it on 'outlined' for the time being. What do most people prefer having it set to? |

As s side note, has anyone other than myself noticed that you cannot zoom in as closely as you used t be able to?.. You can zoom in pretty far, but I'm used to it going in more... I like it when I pencil out clicks and such.
