Maximum number of physical tracks

Hello, I have an old Protools 24 mix with 4 cards. As far as I know I could connect as many as 8 888/24, because every card can handle a maximum of 16 physical tracks.

Well, my question is about if it is possible to have the 64 physical channels, running at the same time, or if it is the theorical limit, and it depends of other parameters as the computer, the processing in every card, etc...

With a system that old, it will likely be best to simply add tracks in a blank session and see where it runs out. Just open a blank session, select New Track and type 64 in the box and see what happens. Either it will populate with all 64, or it will tell you what the limit is
