Avid Application Manager can see licence; PT can't!
I have raised a support ticket, but no response yet.
I've just put PT 2018 on my new MacBook Pro. I have a perpetual licence due to renew at the end of March. iLok Manager & Avid Application Manager can both see the licence. PT refuses to launch: it's as if it can't see the iLok. I've updated iLok Manager and restarted. Any other ideas? |

Re: Avid Application Manager can see licence; PT can't!
Interestingly, iZotope Iris 2 also doesn't see iLok although License Manager does & iLok lights up
On a MBP with USB-C so having to use adaptor. Tried 2 different ones. Altiverb & Speakerphone see the iLok. Still working through other installs. |

Re: Avid Application Manager can see licence; PT can't!
Just been to buy an Apple USB-C to USB-A adaptor in order to plug my iLok in. Still only acknowledged by some apps and not others, notably PT.
Has anyone got an iLok to work with a Touchbar MBP? |

Re: Avid Application Manager can see licence; PT can't!
If you have v2018.1 installed and that computer has internet access, please try deactivating the Pro Tools HD license, then launch PT and start an iLok Cloud session. (Remember to Close Cloud Session in iLM after you try this to be able to activate back to your iLok.)
Resetting the iLM prefs might also help... File > Preferences > Licenses > Remove account data...

Re: Avid Application Manager can see licence; PT can't!
I don't know what they did, but Avid support "tweaked" my licence and now PT works fine. I guess iZotope need to do the same tweak?

Re: Avid Application Manager can see licence; PT can't!
Thanks for letting us know. Likely related to the Release Limit?

Re: Avid Application Manager can see licence; PT can't!
Hard to check what it was now, but as my subscription was valid until the end of March surely my release limit was too? Avid have updated it to 1 April now.
Would Avid Application Manager say that Pro Tools was activated if the installed version was later than the release limit? The error dialog from PT said there was a valid licence on a specific iLok *the very iLok that was plugged in at the time! |

Re: Avid Application Manager can see licence; PT can't!
Application Manager shows that a license is activated, but doesn't display the Release Limit - that's currently only displayed in the Details for the license in iLok License Manager. Will check to see that's on the list for Application Manager and add it if it isn't there already.
