Default Time Factory II 25fps to 24fps PROBLEM

Hi everyone

I need to create the 24fps master for the DCP release of a 25fps project.

I have done the audio speed change in Time Factory II, stem by stem to avoid artifacts as much as possible, and then re-recorded the 24fps mix from the time-expanded stems in Pro Tools.

Here is where I encounter my problem - the new 24fps mix does not sync up with the 24fps picture. I have done a plain-old SRC (with subsequent pitch change) using the import option in Pro Tools, and the 24fps mix from the Time Factory stems is about 10 seconds shorter than the Pro Tools SRC.

Am I correct in thinking that as the 24fps mix needs to run 4% slower than the 25fps original, the percentage change in Time Factory II is 104.00%? I think my problem is coming from there, although on the face of it this should work?

Thanks in advance for any tips/advice.

No. You are not correct. it should be 104.1666%
The math is here: 25 : 24 = 1.0416666.

Thus 0.16666% makes the difference you are talking about.

So enter the value in Length (Percent) window 104.1666 and you'll be fine.

SZE, just go to TF Advanced Options panel and choose the in and out frame rates, no need to calculate.
