Default I only hear my vocals in one ear when I go to record but the track plays in both

My mbox 2 plays the audio track in both ears but when the 48v is engaged I can only hear vocals in one earphone(left) but the track plays in both. My mix knob when turned to the right side for the right ear its like it turns down and goes silent, but when I turn it to the left the left ear is loud and clear. How can I fix this issue?

Mbox 2? You have to engage the mono button to get the no latency signal in both ears.

Are you trying to record your mic(a mono source) to a STEREO track?

Assuming this isnt a joke thread...

the mix knob doesnt change left/right it changes the MIX between hearing what is going in and what is going out of protools

all the way to one side will be all In and all the way to the other is all Out.

Put it half way and you will hear both

Yeh press the mono button to hear your mono mic signal out of both headphones

My point was, its a common newbie mistake to try recording a mono source to a stereo track(the other common goof being trying to record an instrument, say a guitar, to an instrument track). Some that are new to the game assume, "of course I want my "insert source here" to be in stereo"

Im running pro tools 11 with mbox 2 I'm new to this but from what I'm reading the mix knob doesn't determine what ear your suppose to hear it in? Please elaborate on it for me thank you and when I go to record in pro tools 11 my vocal output is only in one ear when my 48v phantom power is engaged.

Sorry for my bluntness, but you are not going to be able to use Pro Tools without reading the manuals.

Everyone here is willing to help those who put forth the effort required to learn PT, but I don't think many (if any) of us are willing to teach Pro Tools 101.

I don't know which manuals came with your version of Pro Tools, but mine included an "Intro to Pro Tools" which you really must read first.

Then there is the "Pro Tools Reference Guide"...you don't have to read the entire thing, but you do need to get familiar with it.

There are a ton of other manuals...they are kinda "read as required".

You can access all of the Pro Tools documentation by clicking "Help" on the Pro Tools menu...
