Default PT10 Midi notes trigger randomly and spontaneously with Digi 002 console

Hi, I am trying to get my system working again; I have upgraded from PT8LE to 10.3.10 quite recently and I have been through a lot of issues. The last one is that I am experiencing random midi notes triggered spontaneusly in instrument tracks. Sometimes they are not even notes but some sort of midi information changing the pitch of the midi notes. Notes are triggered spontaneously right after I finish playing plugins midi instruments.
The most interesting thing is that everything was fine just a month ago with same set up using PT8LE (i.e. the only actual change in my set up is the upgrade from PT8 to 10; nothing more so most likely it is a PT issue interacting with my set up).
Just in case, I've disconnected all the midi controllers except one to test but the issue still persists even with all controllers are disconnected (I have an arturia keyboard, MS20i and maschine studio). And I have a midiman 4x4 midi interfase (quite old and I have never had problems with it). Hope this is a well-known issue with an easy fix.. I am getting tire with all the problems after the upgrade (I am not upgrading ever again; my next system is a mac with logic; this is a nightmare and I see PT8LE really similar to PT10; yes, folks, yes, maybe PT12HD is a bigger leap but for me the upgrade for a rip off...).
Anyway...many thanks for your help,
Cheers

Default Re: PT10 Midi notes trigger randomly and spontaneously

If you go to Setup (menu) > MIDI > MIDI input devices... what do you see there?

Default Re: PT10 Midi notes trigger randomly and spontaneously with 002 Console

Many thanks! your question already gave me the answer. Indeed, there was nothing wrong with my midi controllers.
I haven't gone there before; so I went there, disable one by one and test...The problem is "FW 002 MIDI MidiControl".
It makes sense because I had to update the driver for the digi 002 console to make it work with PT10.
I have nothing conected to the MIDI ports in the console. I do have a midiman 4x4 for that and fortunately, no errors there. I can definitely live without using the midi ports in the 002 console so I think I am fine.
Anyway, if you know how to make the MIDI ports back to work with 002 console, please let me know.
Again, great help! Many thanks

Glad I could help.

If you re-connect the 002 and record some MIDI - what do you see in the MIDI Event List?

The 002 does not need any setup in Midi studio to allow midi to work. Its any external midi triggering devices that need setup(like a keyboard or an electronic drum kit). Let's say you want to use an old synth as a midi controller to play MiniGrand. Connect a midi cable from the synth(midi out) to the 002(midi in). Then go to Setup>Midi>Midi Studio and create a new instrument. Name it whatever you like(my Yamaha Motif es8 is named "Motif" without the quotes). The next options are brand and model, but those can remain blank as they don't matter. The next detail is the crucial one. The midi input port MUST be specified. In your case, it would likely be "002 Midi In[Emulated]" or similar(but the proper choice should be a selection so it should be an easy choice)

I sold my 002 a long time ago, but ran the Motif and a Roland TD10 kit for years with great success
