HDX Error -9129
Can anyone Tell me how to fix the CPU problem? I was tracking vocals today and kept getting an errors 9129 on a relatively small 44.1 session. I had to apologize plenty of times to a frustrated singer. I was very close to pulling out the hex cards and putting my accel cards back. Haven't sent them back yet.
I have also been having problems when I open a session. I hit play and PT just sits there. I have to to open the playback engine, change the playback buffer and it solves it, but do I really have to do this every time? Isn't HDX supposed to be more stable than before? So far not so impressed. Reboot.reboot.reboot. |

Re: HDX Error -9129
I am also having this problem. Running HDX1 on win 7 pro 64 bit with pro tools 10.3.2 HD 8 gig ram and a UAD2 QUAD pcie card. Mother board and i7 six core built for pro tools specs. Anyone got a solution yet to this:
Audio processing could not complete due to conflicts with other CPU tasks or a potential clocking issue. If this occurs often, verify your sync cables or try changing the HW Buffer Size setting in the Playback Engine dialog. In most cases a larger HW buffer size will prevent the problem. (-9129)

Re: HDX Error -9129
Hey guys (and gals),
I was having this same issue and it was driving me absolutely mad. I realized that I had switched an option in my Native Instruments Kontakt plugin to use it's "Memory Server". As soon as I unchecked that bad boy and restarted PT all those dang 9139 errors vanished. That may help some folks out there running NI...

Re: HDX Error -9129
Update:
Well, it was too good to be true. 9129 errors started cropping up again after a few days. I did notice that when I reseated the HDX card to another slot, mac booted up almost as if it's in safe mode, with the little progress bar going when the grey screen and the apple logo comes up. And when that happened, Pro Tools was humming along swimmingly. So I might try rebooting in safe and try again. In the meantime, the only way to stop the errors temporarily is to quit Pro Tools, clear the memory, wait a bit and re-open. My original post below: Just wanted to give a heads up on what worked for me. My HDX - OSX Mountain Lion Mac Pro was plagued with error -9129, -9171 since I upgraded from PT8 mid of 2013. I've tried reseting PRAM, my spotlight was turned off, WIFI off, all applications closed except for pro tools etc. But I was still getting the errors. The only short term remedy was to reboot after repairing permissions. The first session I open will be fairly stable for a while. Opening the next session will yield an avalanche of errors that made working downright impossible. Lurking on the DUC, I read another user mentioned that he/she solved the problem by inserting the HDX card to Slot 3 instead of Slot 2. I finally tried it 2 nights ago and so far. I have not had one single 9129 or 9171 error pop up in the last 24 hrs. And this is with multiple sessions opening and closing in succession throughout two days with no rebooting. As a media composer, my sessions are a heavy mix of audio & MIDI tracks triggering sound libraries from external hard drives. So the suggestion from Avid kb article to switch off externals to reduce the errors just won't fly for me. If you are having trouble with your system, you might want to try this out and see if this trick works for you too. Just remember to backup all your important bits before trying. My config: Mountain Lion 10.8.5, Mac Pro 5,1 mid 2010 3.33Ghz 6 core westmere with 32Gb Ram, running Pro tools 10.3.7 and 11.2 co-install. Hardware Omni HD My Pci-e slot config: Slot 1 - video card, Slot 2- blank, Slot 3-HDX. Slot 4-Orico USB3 card. TLDR - To eliminate errors, try inserting your HDX card in pci-e slot 3 instead of slot 2 in your mac pro. Last edited by SG-LA; 08-06-2014 at 03:28 AM. |
