ilok problems

Just purchased an ilok. Made an ilok account and then tried to add my ilok. I keep getting this message:

"The Active-X component that talks to your iLok was not initialized.

If your ilok.com client software was installed before June 4th, 2008, you need to update your client software by visiting this page to download a software update.

If you have updated your software, but there is currently a security warning at the top of your browser window from Internet Explorer that you need to click on the warning and let the Active-X component load. After clearing the warning, Try your ilok.com operation again."

I have tried using both firefox and I.E. 8 . I'm on a windows 7 64 bit computer. Thanks in advance!!!

Well, did you click on the warning bar in the IE and let the ActiveX component load? That worked for me, I haven't noticed the warning bar when I tried it on my PC for a first time.

Thanks for your reply Tom. The Warning bar didnt appear. I even tried installing chrome, and using that.

Have you installed the latest pace drivers and iLok drivers?

Love the sig. I use SATV with VCC and at times it's very effective.


To the OP,

Some computers are configured in ways that make ilok very difficult to access. If you go to another computer you may have better luck.

Yep, just started down this path myself.. My ears are beginning to work again so I'm appreciating the little, (and not so), things again...

Yes i've installed the latest driver and client. I also tried reinstalling them a few times.

I first tried with I.E. 8 64 bit , Firefox 4. With these i got:

After both of these didn't work, I even downloaded Chrome and tried that too. Then I tried I.E. 8 32 bit and with that browser as well as getting the active x message. I got windows up box saying that the ilok client software had crashed.

I tried disabling adblock plus (read that could help in a forum). Also tried disabling my netgear modems firewall (read that could help on the ilok website).

nup, I tried I.E 8 already, and that didnt work either (that link says how firefox 4 doesnt work).
