Default All drives are Transfer only!

Mac OS X 10.4
Pro Tools LE 7.1
iMac G5 2.0Ghz
1.5Gb RAM
Lacie 160Gb Firewire External HDD

I'm intending upgrading my system to Leopard 10.5 so I installed Tiger on my firewire drive specifically to run Pro Tools. I already have it running on the main Macinstosh HD (under 10.4.11) and it works fine. When I boot the mac from the firewire drive, pro tools will launch and run OK - but all the drives are marked as Transfer drives. It won't allow me to change them to playback or recording.

Please help - I'm trying to be good and do what Digidesign say - but I really need some of the new features in Leopard running on this mac.

Thanks

Tim, I don't know if this will help, but I had a situ yesterday where I had to do a Tiger re-install ("archive and install"). After finishing it, I opened PTools and all of my drives came up "Transfer" only. After messing a bit, I re-installed PTools (7.4), restarted and all was well. You may have to do a PTools re-install to get your drives back. I would certainly consider doing a PTools re-install before re-formating all of your drives....

This happens all the time to my external HD when I forget to remove it correctly. The fix for me is dragging my Digidesign Databases folder from my internal Drive to my external. Granted, all of your drives are transfer only, try deleting your Digidesign Databases folder at the root, first openning screen, of your HDs. Open ProTools and it will rebuild these folders. Try changing the T/R then. If that doesn't work I'll upload a zip of my Digi Databases volume folder and you can replace yours with that.
