PTLE 7.1 - won\'t start from other user accounts
Hello, all --
PT LE 7.1 on Mac OS X, starts up just fine from the admin account from which it was installed. However, it unexpectedly quits on launch from any other accounts on the same machine [we want students to be able to use it from a non-admin account]. I've tried local accounts with standard privileges and with admin privileges. At first I thought maybe the account that installed it got some files it needed to start. So I copied all the digi-related stuff I could find from the original user's Preferences directory. When that didn't help, I copied the entire Library directory over from the original account [and yes, made the new account the recursive owner] -- same error. I have found in the Digi kbase that 6.9 has to be run from the account that it was installed with. http://www.digidesign.com/index.cfm?...0&itemid=21725 This was a brand new install of PT 7.1 from a 7.1 installer CD. Does this only-one-account rule still apply, and have any workarounds been found? [Yes, I tried removing all the Plug-ins even though it works just fine from the original account -- it still didn't solve the problem.] Any advice offered is much appreciated. |
