Up and running again! All in all, it was a very smooth ride. So far using Leopard / 8.0.1 it feels nothing has changed except the OS feels snappier. Looking forward to Snow Leopard version (and SL compatible plugs), it should be even better.

I'm buying a new Mac Pro any day (or week). Will try it with only a core card and see if that and the native power is enough. If it is, then I'll:
1. Crossgrade the HD3 accel PCIx to HD1 PCIe and sell two PCIx cards.
2. Buy another Mac Pro for the PCIe system and sell two PCIe cards.

If HD1 feels too weak, I'll Upgrade the HD3 accel PCIx to HD1 PCIe and take one card from the other system and I'll have two HD2 accel PCIe with a lot of native power. We run a lot of VI's and hits the roof quite often in both our systems.

If the new Macs is so powerful as some people say, maybe the Core card only is needed for handling delay compensation and mix engines?

Yep...Sucks. Current estimate is $60000 in Apple hardware and Digi crossgrades to change out our PPC machines to Intels. Sticking with 8.0cs3/8.01 for the foreseeable economical future.

On G-5 PPC with HD Accel 3 pci. I would love a new MAC 8 core and PT, but with the PCI-e upgrade, that's put a real damper on things. Also looking into Apogee and Logic with MAC 8 core.
