I can't seem to find the Pro Tools update to make it compatible with Catalina.

Any help?

If you are on a support plan or valid subscription you will have the versions in youd Avid account and now for catalina it is version 2020.3 so either download that if you are on an active plan or you need to reinstate your license to get these new versions. Dont know what you have today as you didn’t post that so add the info and we can advice more specific.

I spoke too soon, I downloaded 2020.3 and its telling me i need to purchase Pro Tools perpetual.

I had a license, as it states on my iLok that doesn't expire.

Can I just buy 2020 license or is only subscription based? Can I use an earlier version with Catalina?

The avid site is so not user friendly, seems verbiage is all over the place.

You need to purchase a reinstatement to get up to the latest version. Avid stopped selling reinstatements at the start of the year but you can still find some available through retailers. Check out Sweetwater, Full Compass, et al.

With the reinstatement you’ll get 1 year of updates until your license is frozen at that level. To keep from getting left behind, you’ll need to buy the annual update plan every year. From here on out, if you let your update plan expire and you fail to buy another during the grace period, you’ll have to buy a whole new license for Pro Tools to get up to date.
