Default Pro Tools can't create a new session

Anybody experience this before? I tried upgrading from Pro Tools 11.1.2 to 11.1.3, and still had the same problems. Any help or suggestions much appreciated.

Yes, we have been dealing with Assertion Errors for 10 years
I'd start with the Database and Catalog files

Hi,

Have you tried creating a new session from your internal drive? I assume you've been using the LaCie external! Is it the same starting new session on both internal and external drives.

Does the drive/ partition / folder path have any illegal characters? Like.. @/#/& /$ same goes for the session title does it have any illegal characters or is the title or file oath unusually long?

Unfortunately I still can't even open the program. I can't open or create any session at all from the internal drive or the external drive. I tried moving the ilok to a different port. I tried unplugging the Duet. I also tried manually uninstalling Pro Tools, then reinstalling. Nothing seems to be working. I couldn't find the Database or Catalog ties to delete.

Thanks for the tips. any other thoughts about this?

There's a neat program written by one of the posters here (Pete Gates) that allows deletion of databases, etc. associated with PT. See this thread: http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?p...45#post2157745
go to post 44 and it's in his sig file.

As a trial uninstall the Duet (s/w and h/w) and try running off your computer's built-in audio. It won't be pretty but if it works you'll know that at least a barebones system is working.

Musicman691,

thank you so much. The program to trash the preferences worked the first time, right out of the gate. I'm back up and running and I didn't even need to do the uninstall/reinstall for the Apogee software or hardware. In fact, Pro Tools immediately recognized the Duet as the I/O.

Thanks again
