Default PT 24/NT bugs

I am having two very annoying problems with PT 24/NT.

Firstly, the MTC from PT to my sequencer often stops for no reason.

Secondly, and more seriously, playback often goes into a 3 seconds loop. Once this happens the only solution is to exit PT. However, when I try to run PT a message "cannot run two copies of PT" is displayed.
Inspecting the task manager shows PT is not running, but it thinks it is. To fix this I have to shutdown NT, but this causes NT to freeze completely. The only option then is to power cycle....
The two bugs both occured tonight during a two hour recording session.
Any ideas ??
John

I you could please get me a bit more information about your midi configuration it would be helpful. Are you running a Midi Man 4X4, hardwiring it from PT to your sequencer ?
The looping problem is an intermittant bug we have discovered as of late. Good news is it's been fixed in PT 4.2.5. This release has just gone to duplication so I don't have copies yet myself to send out. If you're registered you'll get the Rom automatically in about 2 to 3 weeks (I'm being very conservative. It'll probably be less). This looping bug may in fact be related to the MTC behavior your having. I'm trying to get more info on that. Stay tuned. Thanks.

Hi. I was able to confirm that the MTC dropout behavior is related to the "looping" bug I mentioned. I double checked and also confirmed it is fixed in 4.2.5.

Tom,
Many thanks for feedback ...
I'll look forward to 4.2.5 for the bug fixes.
Just for the record I'm using the Midi on the Intel ATX motherboard ( crystal ), and sending sync to a port on an Opcode 64X which is connected to a second PC running Cubase. Other than the MTC
dropout it locks up fine...
All the Best
John
