I was running melodyne 2 in trial mode. I upgraded my trial to v4 yesterday. When I opened, it told me that once I saved the project, i'd no longer be able to open the sessions and have it work in melodyne 2. But it did function as expected in melodyne 4. There's just no going back once you do.

Hmm, they don't offer an Essentials 2 to Essentials 4 upgrade (I'm cheap!). Either I can buy Essentials 4 for $99, or upgrade to Assistant 4 for $150.

Audio to Midi is the one thing I'd like from Assistant..

With the Canadian dollar tanking, it's getting expensive!

Watching the "What's New" video for M4, I predict A LOT of really terrible sounding vocals coming my way in the future.

It's cool what they're able to make the software do, but there also looks to be enough rope for inexperienced users to hang themselves.

Some of that stuff could lead to a new "autotune-T Pain"-like fad.
