Problem: Eleven Rack and Digi 003 NOT working together?

I have an Eleven rack (Latest version) and a Digi 003 Rack Plus. The software is PT 10 HD. On a Mac Pro running SL 8.06

I have them hooked up as recommended. SPDIF out to the in of the other and in to out. USB & firewire cables are plugged in and drivers for both devices are installed. Individually both units work fine.
But in the Hardware setup screen, only the Digi 003 shows up. No Eleven Rack.

In the playback engine screen, although it shows the Digi 003 as my default Pro Tools audio device. The eleven rack is also shown in the menu.

Why are they not both showing up in the Hardware setup screen?
This is not the first time I have seen this. I have actually owned an Eleven rack a few other times, but this is always the result. In the past, I just ended up selling the Eleven Rack, but for once, I would like to get it working and give it a try with the Digi 003 plus.

Any recommendations?

Select PRO TOOLS AGGREGATE as your playback engine and you should then see both, as long as they are both connected to the computer via USB (11R) and firewire (003).

Negative.

The 003 does not support Aggregate I/O.

The only proper way to use an 11R and 003 at the same time is to hook up the 11R to the 003 via S/PDIF.
