Default Crashing-Help

I'm having a problem playing files once they are in a PT session. I have no problem importing files, exporting files and converting files but when I put them in the timeline and hit play the whole computer either freezes, a fatal exception pops up or the computer totally restarts. My system is as follows:

Micron PIII - 650mHz (Intel)
Windows 98 SE
256 megs RAM
Yamaha DS-XG sound card

I'm really familiar with Pro-Tools on the Mac platform but the PC platform, well that's a different story.

Thanks for your help!

I can help you if you tell me what motherboard/chipset combination you have.

Ok, I thought I had this fixed but it appears I don't.

I deleted the DAE preferences and launched and it work perfectly. I could play, edit, etc. for a couple of days. Then started a new session today, and it crashed on import. Rebooted, deleted prefs, launched, imported files and when I tried to play one, poof... back to the original problem.

Is anyone else experiencing this? My system specs are above.

Thanks
Holly
