Default MODO: Get ready for a new level of realism (coming soon from IK)

I have to say....that this looks promising.

I began life as a bass player and still do it now and again....I have to say my experience with VI's have been lackluster.

This looks like it can be very cool, obviously for myself who is recording traditional music groups ......it may be just what I've been looking for sonically speaking

I love that bass. If you noticed in the gui they even have Lemmy's hat on a chair in the background

The physically-modeled Rickenbacker in MODO BASS is going to sound more realistic than a sample-based instrument. Hopefully you'll get to give it a try when released.

That'll be interesting if it works out like you say. I've heard some modeled instruments and while they are flexible in the sound they can make I'm not sold that they are more realistic than a sample based instrument. Good modeling can take a LOT of cpu power to make it sound good.

Which is the catch .22, as to whether or not it's a viable option

The AAS instruments are not resource hungry on the cpu. Neither is Pianoteq.
AAS sounds just ok but not great imo. Pianoeq is pretty good but there are better sounding sample based options imo.

I'm hoping IK will take pysical modeling to the next level with this plugin.

OK, first we are now stating November 30th for those interested in a release date. Second, we have a new video that demonstrates the slap play style: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmwx2-BgjGU
