Easiest thing is just to have 2 hard drives, with an OS on each and the different versions of pro tools each.

Also when a new version of pro tools is released and you buy it, you should get a new hard drive for it, or at least put the 'old' version on a new hard drive and install the new one on your 'main' hard drive if you use your computer for other things as well and its not practical for you to install everything again.

If you're talking about a version of say: M-Powered and LE with the same exact numbered version, the answer is yes. Otherwise you're looking at partitions and dual booting OS'es.

M-Powered (full version) and LE - yes

PT M-Powered Essential and LE - no on a Mac, yes on a PC

I DID get PT Essential 8.0.3 and PT LE 8.0.3 to both load on the XP Bootcamp partition of my iMac with Leopard 10.5.5

But I can not get both versions to load on my MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard 10.6.2.
