Default Cannot be designated as an Audio Record volume

Hey Now!

I'm having trouble switching a FireWire drive I have to an Audio Record volume. When I mount the drive it sees the FireWire audio volume as a "Transfer" when I switch it to "Record" it gives me an error message saying...

"Rocstor 1" cannot be designated as an Audio Record volume because it is not a valid audio volume.

I have no trouble switching the Video volume to "Record", "Playback" & "Transfer"
I also have 2 internal drives in this computer and it also won't let me switch the audio volume.
I've restarted the computer, tried a different firewire port, tried a different FireWire drive, and no PT session was up when I was trying to change the audio volume. And under ownership & permissions on the FireWire info everything is at "Read & Write"
I also dumped all of the DigiDesign Database and used this program...

This problem is on a
Mac OSX 10.4.6
G5 dual 2.3GHz PowerPC
1.5GB Ram
PT HD 7.2

When I took the FireWire drive to a another computer
Mac OSX 10.3.9
G4 1.25GHz
1.25GB Ram
PT 6.4.1
I had no problem switching the audio volume to "Record"

thanks in advance

Default Re: Cannot be designated as an Audio Record volume

rockstor drives come formated PC-DOS by default
for audio it needs to be HFS extended ( just reformat the drive )
just get info on the drive and look at the format
