Files that PT 7.4.2 Didn't install

I installed PT last evening and by default
a few of the Apps were not checked so
I didn't install them. So here's my question..............

Do i need the first 2 on the list?

#1 Avid Video engine (Not doing film so i need this app?)
#2 Digi Translator which is $500.00 (so this has to be a demo right?)

Here's the second half.

Do I need these additional downloads and if so why???
Why were they not installed with the first installation
of protools?

#3 Midi IO Driver
#4 MP3 option

1. Correct.
2. Correct. This is indeed a paid option. It adds certain additional functions to PT some of which is again related to producing music/sound for picture (e.g timecode, OMF export, expanded Digibase browser etc).
3. I'm unsure about this. Possibly the drivers for Digi's own MIDI interface.
4. The basic install of PT LE does not allow users to bounce down/export audio in Mp3 format. Again this is an additional paid option if you want this functionality. You can use a third party application like iTunes to convert to mp3 if you don't have this.
