Default PT 10HD to 11HD Upgrade Question - What Am I Actually Buying, Avid?

There are several Avid dealers selling the 11HD upgrade online. If I buy this from them (as opposed to the Avid online store) will I still get the extended expert support until March 2016 or is it just an 11 license I'm buying?

I've emailed dealers this question - not one can give me a straight answer.
I've emailed Avid this question - no reply (no surprise there, then)
I've left a telephone message with Avid pre-sales dept - no reply.

Perhaps I'm being thick, but I can find no clear indication in the FAQs as to what I'm actually buying if I go anywhere other than the Avid online store.

Can anybody please enlighten me?

I'm fairly certain Avid would confirm this if you phoned them. But if the "dealer" is not an official Avid dealer, there might be a problem...

I have phoned them; you cannot speak to a real person, only leave a message - to which they've not responded.

The dealers who I've emailed are on Avid's approved list so no problem there.

Perhaps the dealers are as confused by Avid's pronouncements as I am.

Just heard back from one dealer (RSPE) who have confirmed that they can do it but for no less than the price on the Avid site.

My feeling is that it makes no sense for Avid to prevent their dealers from selling the upgrades much the same as they do any other Avid product - unless they want to piss off the dealers!

What Avid should do is categorically state that they will honour the upgrade deal on offer whether purchased from either themselves or any of their dealers.

This lack of clarity only creates frustration.

I don't know what needs clearing up. If you upgrade to Pro Tools 11 HD, you get a PT10/PT11/PT10HD/PT11HD bundle license with a support plan.

From reading the FAQs, my interpretation is that it is not clear whether buying the upgrade from anywhere else but the Avid store entitles you to the extended support plan.

It would be very easy for Avid to clarify this.

You're right, I took a second look and saw that the ones with support plan are (supposedly) labeled as such, instead of just granting the plan based on registration date or something like that.

Yes, you're right. So I think the dealers are just as confused on this.
