artifacts on stop/bounce
Hi All,
using pt9 with an 003R QuadCore PC Asus mobo 8gig Ram Windows Pro 7, 64bit (2) UAD-1 Cards McDSP Plugs SSL and API Wave Plugs Massey Plugs Here's the issue: I have a fade automation on the master bus to fade out the song. If I select a section of the timeline and playback through the fade, it gives this pop of the all the tracks playing again for a brief second when the timeline stops. Sounds like its a buffer clearing out or something, but it happens every time. Anythoughts on why this is happening? Thanks, -Rich |

Re: artifacts on stop/bounce
Have you tried deletin the automation and see if it still does it on that section. That would be my first move.

Re: artifacts on stop/bounce
not yet, but that may be the start. I did originally have an automation to turn on the auto-fade on the ssl compressor.
I've gone in and deleted it, but wondering if there's something still triggering? Not sure. I've never had this happen before in PT. |

Re: artifacts on stop/bounce
I think its plugin reverbs "unloading" because, when you hit STOP, the master fader(which was pulled down to no signal) suddenly pops back up. I usually do my fades in a mastering session(I never try to do everything at once). Just a personal preference
To see if this theory is possible, set your reverb tracks to mute from the end of the fade and beyond. Then see if you still get the noise.

Re: artifacts on stop/bounce
I agree that it's probably reverb etc unloading, but even if I mute out those tracks, it still happens.
I've probably bounced out a gazillion times since pt6 and never recall having this issue in the past. In theory, it shouldn't give any sound because I am not changing the automation on the master fader. When the timeline/bounce stops, it's still at infinity... If I edit all tracks down to inside the export selection, there's no issue. So for the time being, I guess that's my work around. Thanks for the input. -Rich |
