samples
I have numerous sample cd's in Roland and aiff format. I'm using a mac book pro. I've been out of this for a while and used to just run the samples on the old roland hardware. (s-760, xv5080). I know there's got to be an eaiser way to use these samples rather than putting them back in the hardware and going through 1 by 1. Does anyone have any suggestions on which program or programs to use. I currently have an mbox and want to start up again. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks, |

Re: samples
You need a sampler, or more correctly, a sample-player that functions as a plugin.
I'd recommend getting Kontakt2. It can import the S760 samples and comes with a huge libary of it's own. The 5080 is a different matter. Most of those sounds are built in. There is a program can can automatically play each patch (even record every 3rd note, for instance), record it, and then save it to a sampler format, but I can't find the link for it. Maybe someone else will know.

Re: samples
Thanks for the reply,
The thing is I have the samplers, but i'd like an eaiser way to convert them and import them direct into protools. |
