Default ram slots, 2x2gb vs 4x1gb

hi,
i-m about to set up a intel quad CPU to work with PT LE.

My question for you that have experience on this field is:

Is it better to set up 2 x 2GB of RAM or 4 x 1GB RAM ?

Thanks,

JMA

Same performance.
Only difference is when you choose 2*2GB you can always add more later.

Speaking of RAM, I have 2 1gigs in my PC right now, no more slots left. I think its PC-3400 or 3200 or something like that. Is it possible to have two 2gigs so I have 4g of RAM? I'm not at my Prto Tools comp right now so I can't post a Sandra.

If your motherboard supports more than 2 gig, yes... it's possible.
If not, no.
Would have to know more about your MB.

No need to post a Sandra for this, just go look at the specs of your board on the mfg. Website to see if it handles the extra RAM.

Dang. Looks like it only supports up to 2 gigs. So, I guess I'm maxed out.

Maybe it's time I build that Quadzilla I hear so much about....?
