Default Re: Merging sessions
If you set the start time of the incoming session to the end point of the existing one then the automation will be laid over the top from that point onwards.

eg/ Session 1 is the first 25 minutes

Set the start time of session 2 to 00:25:00:00

Then save and quit it.

Open Session 1 and import session data into it using the Match to Tracks and overlay new on existing options and you should be good to go.

Obviously at that point there will be a jump in automation unless you have matched it before hand"

actually now seeing that after importing ep 2 there's a yellowish line appeared on top of the ep 1 automation.. seems to be making everything louder?

took me a few goes to get this work - you really have to make sure its at the end of the session!!!! else it wipes over your automation ☹

any hints?

I havent sorted the routing out for the horror 10 channel split tracks - after I get common elements confirmed I wanna bring ep 2 in to ep 1 session

or maybe I use clip groups to fish out what I need?

Just change the track view from volume trim to waveform. The little drop down menu on the track under the name. (Hold option/alt to do to all tracks)

Track view set to "volume trim" and delete manually the trim line / set to zero.

Or,
make a selection, where the trim shall be zero,
Preview
Track automation mode to trim,
Alt click fader
manual write - write automation to selection.

The yellow lines are probably uncoalesced trim automation (not rendered into normal volume automation, as specified in the prefs - mixing).
If you know, that you do not need any trim automation anywhere in the track, over the whole length of the session: right-click track name, choose "clear trim automation". (Making a selection and choosing this command will not just affect that selection, but the whole timeline.)
