Re: BUG: Big Counter disappearing
ah yes I saw that bug that you logged and up-voted it last week. I logged my version of it about two weeks ago: http://protools.ideascale.com/a/dtd/...ng/159177-3779
Let's hope they fix it. |

Re: BUG: Big Counter disappearing
I am wondering if anyone could remember whether a single idea published on the idea scale site has been adopted to a real version of Pro Tools?

Re: BUG: Big Counter disappearing
An easy workaround would be to hit cmd+(num block) 3 twice.

Re: BUG: Big Counter disappearing
First of all, I'd have to do that hundreds of times during a session — and I'm not the one looking at the screen, so I would have to remember to do that every time. It makes me look incompetent when the counter keeps disappearing from the screen.
Secondly, even if I do your workaround, the position of the counter shifts. I want only the Bars and Beats to show... not the Ticks. When I do your workaround the counter moves to the left, showing Bars, Beats, and Ticks. I have programmed a workaround with QuicKeys that calls up a window configuration automatically, however that too has it's downside. It will close any plugin or send windows that I'm showing temporarily. Bottom line, for me it's a bad bug... bad enough to keep me working in 10.3.10 during tracking sessions. |

Re: BUG: Big Counter disappearing
I'm aware that this is nothing but a workaround, and those are hardly ever ideal. But since there's no other way at this moment, I'm just trying to find a way that might be suitable to you.
Btw. the counter window doesn't shift over here. It stays where I left it. The only other option would be running the video windowed using a black wallpaper. Then no matter what you do the counter stays visible. Not perfect either, but I'm afraid those are your only options at that point.

Re: BUG: Big Counter disappearing
That's opposed to the suggested "windowed". :)
Meaning you don't run the video fullscreen but in a scaled down window that leaves room for the counter.

Re: BUG: Big Counter disappearing
Ah yes, now I understand your meaning. One of my friends has started working this way because of the same bug, but he kind of hates it. He's got a 60" monitor, but with the movie window shrunk down he might as well have a 48" monitor.
