Default Whats the latest OS X i can use with PT9 ?

I have Imac 3.06 GHz Intel Core i3 4 GB Ram

Pro Tools 9 LE Mbox Pro 3

i Think is OS X 10.7.4 right?

if is that im in 10.7 because i upgrade from 10.6.8

my issue right now is the mac don't let me upgrade to 10.7.4 because i need the 10.7.3 version.. The other question is do i need to upgrade 1 by 1 like 10.7 to 10.7.1 to 10.7.2 to 10.7.3 and then finally 10.7.4

Yes, you are right. It´s the latest version of PT9 which is 9.0.6 which wants Mac OSX 10.7.4 finally.
Check it out there
http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...nload/en428011

If you scroll down you will find the link where you can download the 9.0.6 installer from. However
because 9.0.6 is an update only, you will have to install the full installer of 9.0.5 first, then install
the 9.0.6 update.

You may use the MBox Pro driver 1.0.16. as I can see this one adds OSX Lion support and fixes
several issues with Lion.

And, no, you may just update to 10.7.4 directly.

The best of success to you!

FireWire is so stable and such simple tech that I would doubt it's the computer

Probably your mbox

Test it outweigh just your core audio (i.e. W/o the interface hooked up)

Yes you can get it installed - I did it myself, it's been a few years I forget exactly.

everything was working fine for about two weeks and then I started having really really crippling types of errors

I'm talking about I couldn't even work on the session for 10 minutes without having the system lock up or PT want to shut down

It was totally useless in that state for me. that's why it is not recommended and definitely not supported by avid.

One thing is unsupported but working fine another matter entirely is unsupported but working like crap.

But hey if you don't believe me it's definitely doable, but be prepared for it to go sideways on you

Well, no doubt it may be possible, there are always exceptions. I even have read about one guy using LE8 on Mavericks
(was not saying how many errors and issues associated). That´s not the point.
Like stated by YYR most of the time it does not offer a flawless, trouble free performance in the long run (if it even will
be possible to start it which very often simply doesn´t work) and we are just here to recommend people only stuff which
they can rely on and be sure of it will be working as it´s best.
We are not here to recommend them things which in some cases may work, in other won´t, just by accident.

If you use a supported configuration in most cases you can be sure to get the system to work sooner or later.
That´s the point actually.

As for Houdiniii´s issue YYR already has mentioned it, it probably will be the MBox which will be the problem. There have
been reported lots of issues like that regarding the Mbox Pro models.
First of all I would try another Firewire cable, Firewire adapter etc. whatever you are using. The cables and the adapters are
often sources of trouble.

Then I would reinstall the whole system as a clean install and install 10.7.4, do all the optimization stuff (this is important!)
http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...oting/en423791
and install the full Pro Tools 9.0.5 followed by the 9.0.6 update.
http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...nload/en428011

At this point I would strongly recommend to perform a backup of the freshly installed 10.7.4 including Pro Tools 9.0.6 to any
external drive. So you can get back to it anytime the Mbox driver whatever will mess up your system again.
Do not even try to connect your MBox Pro to your computer in any way up to this point.

Finally install the 1.0.16 driver for your MBox Pro which includes a Firmware update which hopefully may help to solve the issue.
http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/d...ox-Pro-Drivers

In some cases Firewire devices may get damaged by hot plugging, means to unplug/replug the cable/adapter from the device or
the computer while it is running but normally that has been a 002/003 specific issue.

Just reinstall your system step by step and keep your MBox Pro disconnected until everything included Pro Tools 9.0.6 will be installed.
Make a backup of the whole system and finally install the MBox driver, perform the MBox firmware and hopefully you will be up and
running again.

Anyway doing this all will be your best chance at least probably because once a system has been kinda messed up you won´t get it
to work properly again in most cases without doing a clean and fresh install of everything.

The very best of success to you!

I'm using 10.8.5 with HD 9.0.6(3rd party FW interface) on a Harperstown Mac Pro and it's as stable as it's ever been.
