And the whole point of the processing on the Logics was that it wasn't trying to emulate anything else - it did what it said on the tin. Or the logicators rather. In order to get it to sing, you just had to know exactly what to tell it to do. A task seemingly beyond some mixers.

But in terms of ergonomics and a usable surface, the L3 still takes some beating.

Still up there to be voted on

http://protools.ideascale.com/a/dtd/...24/125058-3779

The more votes the more Avid might see it as a viable model.

I guess it's all dependent on the quality of the components that you want to use. If you're aiming for the bottom line, then yes it shouldn't cost more, but if you're aiming for quality, not only in precision of built, parts longevity etc then it may be normal that it is priced slightly higher since it would cost more to build and build properly.

An example is the Behringer x32 and the Midas M32, same software, same parent company, but the quality of pre's in the Midas and other parts makes it slightly more expensive. Granted what we are proposing has very little Input compared to a 32 input board, but still the more quality component you use the more costly the production is, and the more you want the quality control to be tight on it which also has it's costs.

Not if it's S6 quality components which is what I am proposing.

I beg to differ. I just had more time on an S6 yesterday and the shipping units (last I saw in person were the prototypes @ AES) are incredibly nice and well made. I've started a mini review and hope to post it soon when I can get some time to finish it up.
