Auto Write to End/Start/All
Hi all,
I just migrated to a 40 fader PC from a Control24. I wanted more faders, and those great 8-digit scribble strips that even the Icon doesn't have! Anyway, I mix every day, and have worn out my "Auto Write to End/Start/All" buttons, but I find that PC doesn't have such buttons. Does anyone know the alternative? I am always working in TOUCH mode, so even if I am riding one fader, I don't have to ADDITIONAL hands to hold the Control key AND hit the Transport End button. I use a Shuttle Pro USB device that I would gladly program to to any keyboard strokes, but the Transport End button isn't available- it is a mouse click, or a PC buttton- no Keyboard equivelant. Anyway, I guess I just need to change my ways a bit to work, but I thought I would ask. thanks! paul

Re: Auto Write to End/Start/All
control-right arrow (pro control key, above the transport) for write to end
control-left arrow for write to start control-option (I think, it's the modifier key above control on the PC) and EITHER left arrow or right arrow for write to all. |

Re: Auto Write to End/Start/All
Thanks-
My problem is that that still takes two hands to perform, and one of my hands is holding a fader. So I am still left with needing 3 hands.

Re: Auto Write to End/Start/All
and Option Clicking will "latch" it so it stays on after each pass.

Re: Auto Write to End/Start/All
When you are writing in touch mode and want to write to end, first hit the auto button for the track. This will switch it into latch mode. If your finger stays on the fader, it will continue writing but now it will be in latch. Then use 2 hands to do the write to end command.
It sounds way too complicated but I do it all the time. |

Re: Auto Write to End/Start/All
Ohh, that last suggestion sounds perfect for me. Although, by this time, I have an EditPack on it's way- which has the button. I had been planning on getting one anyway, so now I will have my favorite little button, and many more.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions- Paul
