Best bounce
I have recently been told by the guys that master most of the stuff I do that they want the finished mixes as 24bit 48k interleaved files.
I mix into Protools via outboard so I have 2 mono 24bit 48k files. The question is do I bounce to disk to convert to interleaved or is using shift-apple-k (export selected) the same deal? The former takes real time and then some while the latter is quite speedy - another worry I guess - slower is usually better. Any ideas? |

Re: Best bounce
Export command from Audio Regions List exports/combines .L/.R file pairs "as is". File menu's Bounce command is real-time (as you know), & also incorporates any level adj, routing, plug-ins, etc. in your Session. If your mission is to combine them "as is" - all unity gain, no routing/processing, result should be exactly the same either way, so the File menu's real-time Bounce offers no benefit & takes longer. BTW, the Bias Peak prog. can also automatically combine .L/.R files as they're opened.
