Default Mixing and Mastering

Hi Guys.
I need some help with this issue.
Lets say after I have done my mixing, (leveling, eq, compression etc etc)which is the best way to prepare the audio for mastering? should I go ahead and insert the mastering software right there on the master faders then bounce to disk, or do i bounce the file to disk, then import the wave file file into a new session create a master fader and do the mastering here with just the bounce file and the master fader? your help is greatly appreciated, thank you

I like to bounce the mix to the same bit depth/sample rate as the session. Then I pull that bounce into a new PT session, again in the same bit/sampling rate, apply all magic mastering processing (this is an entire topic in and of itself), and lastly dither to 16/44.1khz.

This could perhaps be reflective of your available resources. If you bounce to disk first, you have the added benefit of freeing up resources that were used within the individual tracks for your processing plugins.
