No, it didn't. As I said in previous posts - this is going to require a huge 'under the hood' change that affects a lot of code and will take awhile. You won't see this in anything less than a 'major' update.

Adding it to your list?

Somehow I'd like to think they'd make a pretty big deal about announcing this fix.

If this was the list I asked Spicemix for in the other thread - what I was looking for was features/improvements or other 'new' ideas, not fixes.

This one definitely will be talked about by me once the fix is in place, that's for sure!

I guess we were just hoping a .1 release would be considered a 'major' update (as apposed to all of the .0.1 updates. So should we be expecting the next 'major' update to be Pro Tools 9? Or help us understand what is considered a major update?

Thanks for staying on this bug.

Yes, major would mean a full version number like 9.0.

This has been a well documented problem for SUCH a long long long time! Months and months and months! I NEVER can use PT for music creation that involves midi and/or VIs. The midi timing is completely unacceptable. It is quite true that Logic, Digital Performer, Cubase and Garage Band! though not pefect are far better than PT in this respect.

This thread has been active for more than 1 year. In that time PT software versions have been released, some of which serve only to introduce new hardware and obsolete old hardware, while this serious long standing bug and inadequaciy has not been rectified. It is understandable that the company must move forward to generate revenue, but when it does so at the expense of stability, reliability and rigorous quality, it risks alienating and losing the user base.

+1! The potential sales spike that may come from the introduction of P Tools Native will most likely be offset by the loss of revenue due to people migrating to other DAWs because it is common knowledge that this midi issue is still unresolved. The jury is out as to whether or not it was wise to allocate more resources to developing a new product as opposed to reserving some to fix a high profile bug like this. I sincerely hope that this business decision doesn't bite all of us in the a__.

So for instance, you ad a bug to a freshly released Major update. And instead of fixing it you wait until the next major upgrade???

What are WE the users PAYING for the mistakes supposed to do in WHILE you sit and wonder when the next Major upgrade should arrive... Switch DAW...

The higher PT rises in Major upgrades Numbers the MORE tempting the switch is becoming.
