Default Reverb while singing, but no echo after? (shower effect)???

not sure if this is the right forum for this but...... on for example a vocal track,, how do i get reverb during all the singing, but no echo after the pauses??? i suppose a good example is the "singing in the shower" effect.. theres reverb while you sing, and thats it. when you stop, the reverb stops. theres no extra space/echo afterwards.. the reason i want to do this is to add space to my vocal, but I want the average, "non-engineer" ear to not be able to tell i used reverb. almost as if the vocals "just came out that good"... cant find the answer anywhere online for some reason.... my thoughts is to just latch automate my reverb aux track, and turn it way down when the singing pauses.. and turn it back up on the next verse when the singing starts up again.. which in theory would work, but is there a specific reverb, or certain settings to do so i get this sound without automation????? (p.s.- Im using all stock plug ins with pro tools)

Use a reverb with short decay time?

Decay time. Cool. Thanks! Sorry for my ignorance. I'm still learning the ropes with effects and EQ's; thats why I'm here.

There arefine plugins you can use for which are done for these effects like Eventide h3000

https://www.eventideaudio.com/produc.../h3000-factory

Very useful for the future aswell and does magic things with effects and the classic doubler effect heard on most of the hitsongs on the radio since the 1990's.

Just an idea but as Jfreak said You can use any reverb and play around with the length and release times too.

The H3000 Factory is so flexible it's amazing. Especially when you get into making your own patches or editing what's there (I'm talking down in the area on the lower left where the patch cables/bay lives). The Dual H910s patch is a favorite starting point for vocal thickening.

you could also gate the reverb and trigger the gate with a side-chain from the original vocal track
