Default First note missing on loops

I've found a really frustrating situation where I've got a MIDI passage which I want to loop, but the first note (actually a two-note chord) doesn't appear on the loops after the initial clip.

I've quantized it to a whole bar, so it's bang on time and definitely not before the beginning of the bar, I've also trimmed the clip down using whole-bar Grid mode.

My workaround has been to move into Slip mode and make the chord a fraction late, but that's hardly a satisfactory solution - to make my music 'late'!

Anyone had this before and know how to fix it?
