Ugh, 16GB is considered bare minimum and is also a great reason to choose the Mini because you can install 64GB with reasonable cost, unlike MBP

If you get a new Mac you should consider that your plugins might not be compatible with Catalina yet.

Take a look here and if something is critical then check with the manufacturer.
