Pro Tools First Install Help

Happy new year everyone.

I recently received a Focusrite 18i8 which came with the free download of Pro Tools First.

I've been trying install it but when I try to run the program, I receive a message that says "AAE error - 13001 was encountered. Not enough privileges to raise priority of a thread. Bad Installer?".

After I click "Okay", another message pops up that says "Assertion in "..\ SMgr_StConnectionPrep.cpp", line 152. (Use the Copy Button to copy this message to the clipboard.)

After that, it just says Initializing Hardware and does nothing.

Im running this on Windows 7 Home Premium.

Im not very tech saavy...any help is greatly appreciated before throwing my old laptop out the window.

When you run Pro Tools, can you try right clicking on the icon and choosing Run as administrator? Also try holding down the N key while PT is loading. This will force a a playback engine refresh and should let you choose your audio interface.

If neither of these work, I would uninstall Pro Tools from your system and try reinstalling it. This time, right click on the installer and choose Run as administrator.

If that doesn't work, then we will most likely need a bit more information about your system to try and see where the problem might be.
