Default NEVE, MANLEY, TUBE TECH, SYTEK!!!!!

IF ANYONE IS USING THESE OR ANY OTHER HIGH END PRE-AMP,
HOW ARE YOU HOOKING IT UP TO YOUR DIGI 001 OR 2???????
I JUST GOT TUBE TECH MP1A AND IT ONLY HAS XLR OUTPUTS,
AND THEY ARE EXTREMELY HOT!!!! I TOOK 2 XLR OUTS AND WENT
INTO THE FRONT OF DIGI 001 WITH THE GAIN ALL THE WAY DOWN
AND THE PAD ON. THIS WORKED OKAY BUT THE SIGNAL WAS STILL
A LITTLE HOT. DOES THIS DEGRADE THE SIGNAL IN ANY WAY???
I TRIED ACC GUIT, ACCORDIAN, AND VOCALS. IT SOUNDS AMAZING.
BUT ALSO I DONT WANT TO BE LIMITED TO THE XLR OUTS SINCE MY
WHOLE STUDIO IS 1/4". I HAVE A BERHINGER PATCH BAY. I
TRIED AN XLR TO 1/4" CABLE OUT OF THE TUBE TECH BUT IT
WAS JUST TOO HOT. IS THERE SOMETHING TO KNOCK IT DOWN BUT
KEEP THE SOUND. WHAT ARE YOU GUYS USING????????
THANKS

READ THE MANUAL AND STOP USING CAPS BUT I THINK THE ANSWER TO YOUR PROBLEM IS TO USE SOME CABLES WITH AN XLR CONNECTOR ON ONE END AND A 1/4 TRS-JACK ON THE OTHER SIDE YOU GET IT SO HOT BECAUSE INPUT 1&2 ON THE DIGI001 ARE MICROPHONE INPUTS IE MICPRRE'S I DONT SEE WHAT MANLY AND MYTEK HAVE TO DO WITH IT I HOPE YOU DO UNDERSTAND THIS WAY OF WRITING IS LIGHTLY TIRING BUT YOU MUST READ IT TO UNDERSTAND WHAT I WROTE

So please, use interpunction and only Caps where the are supposed to be...

If you're using an external preamp, you should use the Line Inputs on the 001, as in inputs 3 through 8, then conrol the input gain via PT. I also think you need to read up on gain staging and similar things, otherwise you're highly jeopardizing the TubeTech's sonic capabilities, which would be a shame.

Well you know .. the thing is that you're jeopardizing Tube-Tech's capabilities only by running it through Digi001's [bleep] converters (no offense Digidesign..but I guess you agree). Buy some Swissonic converters, which are cheap and rival Apogee Rosetta! Swissonic AD24 should be a good choice and you can connect it to Digi001's ADAT input - the Swissonic WD8 would also be a good choice as masterclock, which would reduce jitter even more
