Cant uninstall AVID HD Driver(x64)
Hello all, Pro tools 11 user on Windows 7 here. I had some issues with PT 11.2, so I wanted to roll back to 11.3.1. I performed the uninstall of PT 11.2 (but stupidly did NOT select to remove the HD Driver, preferences, etc.), ran a registry cleaner, re-booted, and installed 11.3.1. Upon trying to launch 11.1.3, I was greeted with the error message:
"Protools 11 could not be loaded. Please contact the software publisher for support using this software. Error details: Could not find imported function in specified DLL." Anyway, I did some research and it seems the thing to do is obviously do a FULL removal , also removing all PACE stuff, do a registry cleaner, and then re-install everything. The problem im facing is that Avid HD Driver (x64) will NOT uninstall. Ive tried doing it from the device manager -> remove a program area. It gives me an error message during the uninstall, and then refuses to uninstall it. Until I can get this out of the way, I can't really do a fresh install. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Cant uninstall AVID HD Driver(x64)
You MUST also remove the HD driver in ALL cases. And, its recommended to remove Pace 64 bit support as well(when you start the installer, Pace will reinstall as part of the process). Sorry I don't know how to remove the HD driver by itself(when this happened to me, I restored the system drive from an image, then ran the uninstall again so I could include the HD driver). I wish it was NOT an option(anyone at Avid listening???)

Re: Cant uninstall AVID HD Driver(x64)
There is an HDx64 entry in Windows>Control Panel>Programs. Can you un-install from there or do you get same error message?

Re: Cant uninstall AVID HD Driver(x64)
There was an error message when trying to uninstall that way.
I fixed it by installing PT 10.3.8 again, uninstalling PT 11.1.3, and then uninstalling PT 10.3.8. The 10.3.8 uninstaller removed the HD Driver even though the 11.1.3 uninstaller wouldnt. Hope this helps someone out who may be in the same situation.
