Time to put that Annaul Upgrade Plan to the Test. Avid did say, with this kind of setup they could deliver updates much faster.
Should anyone have any faith?

I am running two machines on 10.11.2. The only graphics issue I see is the counter lagging while moving the cursor in the edit window. That's it. It would be nice if it were fixed of course, but whenever I move my curser into the edit window, I am looking at what I am editing, and NOT the counter. I literally have not seen this issue in many days of all-day use, simply because my eyes are elsewhere while editing. Also note, if I stop giving the cursor, the counter returns to normal, it's NOT the mere presence of being in the edit window, it has to be MOVING.

That said PT runs great on 10.11.2. I upgraded from 10.9.5, and see no loss of anything PT-wise. The Mac itself runs way better with 10.11.2 than 10.9.5, and I am running 2009 Mac Pros btw.

All this hysteria is much ado about nothing, imo. Move along, nothing to see here...

I also have terrible graphics lag and glitches with this release. Meters glitchy, etc. Especially bad when moving the cursor and when a plugin window is open.

I had to roll back to Mavericks. I could have tried Yosemite, but I know this was a problem for a lot of people on Yosemite as well. Seems like things are OK so far, but I'm only two simple songs in my "testing phase" at the moment.

How arrogant is that? Sorry .. but .. baah.

The lags are real ... and they are extremly disturbing while recording and editing while transport is active. Just move over a audio or midi clip .. play cursor stutters extremly. Just open some of the internal effects like EQ3 ... and all meters have an extreme lag ... unusable while mixing. But for sure you are never using cheap internal plugins eh?

The reason for that: the new graphic API (Metal) in El Cap. For sure something Avid should and will fix. At this moment it is advisable to stay at 10.10 or 10.9 ..

So, Mark .. move along, nothing to see here for you.

Greetings

Alex

I don't think avid has approved 10.11.2 yet but 10.11.1 has the same issue, I tried 10.11.2 and had some weird stuff happening aside from the laggy graphics, blue tooth track pad started acting up, more errors on big mixes, video playback in sessions got laggy also, went to my backup of 10.11.1 and things are much better. I test the updates before I commit in the hopes that this laggy graphics crap will be over. Buying PT 12 HD tomorrow, I wish Avid and Apple would get their shoit together, I mean this moving the mouse in the edit window causing lagging is such basic stuff, why the hell cant the fix it. I know what I am going to be doing with my support plan... Reporting bugs to Avid... wow that's worth the price of admission, they should call it Bug report plan!

add me to the big list of users having problems with 12.4 on 10.11.2.

Very annoying because I waited for all my other software to be compatible.
