Default Distressor

Hey yall, I'm wondering if anyone knows what the British mod does on the distressor. I know you can buy one with or without it, I'm wondering what exactly it can do.
Thanks.

It emulates the "all Buttons in" on the 1176. I have had my distressor for a month and use it daily. British mode is not right for most things, however, when it is, it is totally worth the extra money.

It's basically a soft limiter. It also has it's own unique attack and release reactions.

By the way, this mode is also available (with a seperate knob even) on the Universal Audio 1176LN reissue as well as on the 1176 section of the obviously-not-loved-by-thou 6176 channel strip...
