Ended up with the same result. Protools won't/can't find M-audio hardware. The 2626 will work fine in Reaper 64, but Reaper can't find/use my UAD1 cards/plugins. Going back to XP Pro 32bit SP3, it's working well.

You might want to check MAudio's website as they were looking for 64bit beta testers awhile back. I saw that back in Dec or Jan when I was looking for 64bit Axiom keyboard drivers. Since I don't have any MAudio audio hardware I did not sign up for that beta test. I'm just saying you might be able to help out.

My own personal testing on the PTLE side indicates that the USB based interfaces seem work with 64 bit and that Firewire interfaces seem to work as long as there is not more than two cores present. A couple things to note are that MAudio and Digi each write their own specific hardware drivers so YMMV and just because the application launches does not mean that its going to run reliably.

If and when Digidesign release a 64bit compatible version, will this be available to us for download to upgrade to? Or will we need to repurchase the application?

I am sure it will be a patch.

I dont think that Digidesign would charge to use a x64 bit version if you already
purchased Protools x32 bit.

If they do charge for it,
it would be a very bad thing for digidesign.


I would hope they place it as a patch if you are a registered user of a x32 bit version.
