Default PT 6.4.1.Mix unexpectedly quits

Hi everyone,

when I try to create a new song on my internal harddrive, Pro Tools unexpectedly quits every time. This does not occur, when I save on an external firewire drive.
We have a G4 Dual Processor 800, OS 10.3.4., ProTools Version 6.4.1cs3, 80Gig internal harddrive, MIX3 on this setup.
I have already used MacJanitor to repair permissions.
What could be the problem?
Please help.
Thanx.

Based on your info, it certainly seems to be disk related. Do you have DiskWarrior or TechTool Pro?

Hi Jonathan,

I ran Disk 10. Everything seems to be ok.

Try changing the drive's audio/video status in the workspace to record and see if that changes anything. Maybe it won't let you save there because that drive isn't considered a valid drive and instead of getting a prompt, you get a quit.

Mac Janitor does not repair permission, it only execute the con tasks. Disk Utility and AppleJack does. Delete the Digidesign Database folder on your hard drive.

Try Disk Warrior if you have it. Also you can create a new user and try again. If it work, it's probably bad preferences.

Hi JC, hi Jonathan,

thanx for your tips. I guess I will get disk warrior and see what happens.
