I have the ProTools 7 version of this book, which is still pretty relevant:

http://www.amazon.com/Pro-Tools-7-Ma...4&sr=8-3-spell

For some reason, the ProTools 8 version is around 200 pages shorter. I haven't seen it, so I don't know what the differences are.

I found this book to be very good regarding advanced editing:

Just stumbled across Pro Tools Overdrive in the cutout bin at Microcenter for 6.99, While its a 7.x era tome it looks to be full of killer tips for the intermediate and more advanced user. Any level user really.

Hi, and thanks for this info.
For what I understand, people logged on an Amazon website cannot buy Kindle ebooks on the other Amazon websites. But this is highlighted on the upper right side of the window, with a message inviting you to move to your local Amazon website.
Please tell me if you can confirm that.

I've only had Pro Tools since April 2012, so I'm certainly a raw beginner, too. The best book I've found to date is "Pro Tools All-in-One for Dummies." This is a much easier-to-understand and straightforward get-it-done kind of book for handling the technical aspects of this DAW. Also, Guitar Centers nationwide have been giving free Pro Tools training classes at 10 AM on Saturday mornings. These have been discontinued during Christmas time, but I'm told they'll start up again after the first of the year. I've found these to be quite helpful.

I know the Original topic is 3 years old, but since it has been brought back up.....

Pro Tools 9 The Mixer's Toolkit - Nathan Adam & Kevin Ward

If you are a home studio owner and use PT9 or M-Powered PT9 this is the book for you.

The iPhone (and iPod Touch) version is ready to go on sales on Apple iBookstore next week.

The paperback version too (check Amazon in the next days). 136 pages.

Check the above indicated webpage or connect to @PtOneHour with Twitter if interested.

The author.

Protools for dummies, (proper edition) I believe 3rd edition is latest. And just get in there and start recording. Protools for dummies is like having an experienced friend when the inevitable questions arise!
