PT and Cubase compatibility
I have a mac. I recently bought PT8 and Cubase 5. What is the best way to go back AND forth between the two?
I got PT b/c I know it better, but Cubase can do OMF's, TC, and 5.1 (for cheaper). I do not have the DV toolkit or the digitranslator for PT. I would like to bring an OMF into CB, send it to PT to edit and record new stuff, maybe do a stereo mix, then send it back to CB for a 5.1 mix. What is the best course for me? |

Re: PT and Cubase compatibility
IMHO, your best bet is to go to www.nuendo-post.com and get the Gavin.xlm file from that site, which is a keyboard shortcuts preset file that brings PT shortcuts to Nuendo or Cubase. Than do everything in Cubase. You will waste less time learning Cubase than exporting-importing back and forth.
EDIT - here's the shortcuts file: http://www.nuendo-post.com/index.php...6774&catid=103
