Me and many others have found versions of pro tools 9 over 9.0.3 to be unstable, you could try going back to 9.0.3 You will need to uninstall9.0.5, install9.0.2, then update to 9.0.3.

Do all of the optimizations....they are important

Unhappy Re: Protools crash when importing audio

Thanks so much for your help, but the problem started with PT 9.0.3, so I contact de avid center here in Chile, and they gave me the solution to update to 9.0.5, and the problem stayed.
So I went back and did what you said, and nothing!!! still crash when importing audio!!!
Any ideas???? please!!!

Where is the audio that you are trying to import? If its on CD, use another program to rip the audio to your hard drive, and import from there. Even iTunes can do this(I think) if you go into its settings and tell iTunes to rip as wave files(otherwise it will use the default AAC data compression). I use Wavelab for ripping here.
