Default "Unknown Error" on sign-in with Avid Link

My PC crashed and I'm having to rebuild all my PT2019.5.0 plug-ins. I'm running Windows 10, and downloaded Avid Link 2019.8_win. I attempted to sign in, and after thinking about it for several seconds, I get "Unknown Error" in red with a pink background.

I tried reinstalling AL, and repairing AL, and I get the same error message. I have the correct UN and PW, as shown by the fact that I could log in here. However, I've also tried to change my password, and the AL window goes black like something is going to happen, but nothing happens.

I need AL to work so that I can get XPand2 back, among other things.

Avid Link like its predecessor is super fragile and buggy. You are just creating problems for yourself. Uninstall Link and download your plugins from your Avid Account and install them manually.

"shown what by logging in here", where is "here"? As in here... on DUC? The login/passwords on DUC have nothing to do with your Avid account, and you should not use the same passwords on both since DUC has manifestly awful security.

I have the same problem here... But when I go to MyAvid on the Avid Homepage I can sign in without any problems. While starting protools sessions it seems to sign me in but when it comes to synchronazition it won't synchronize with the cloud. I tried to work without the cloud, but then I can't open any session a second time and a pop up tells me that I made the session with another version of protools. pretty buggy all this...

Same problem here but just with the profile and marketplace initialization in Avid Link and PTU.

the start screen works and has connection.
funny thing: this only happens when I'm connected via WIFI. Connection with ethernet cable works fine - also the avid Link profile initialization.

I also have the exact same problem with soundflow and the developer told me that it might have to do something with the Wifi Card on my Macbook pro because in the soundflow log it tells us that the WIFI constantly looses the connection for very short time frame and reconnects. Apps like soundflow and avid link need a constant connection to connect to the user profile....?

attatched you find my avid link window using WIFI only on my macbook 15
using Mojave 10.14.6
