The TDM (see DD) has 256 audio busses. To play all the busses (audio flows) within a sample, the TDM is clocked at 256 x 44100 kHz or 256 x 48000 kHz. TDM is like a 256 pin switcher that reads and writes 44100 times a second to 256 busses. (clear? confusing?) in one word: multiplexing. So i assume that to mix all the busses to one audio output, TDM reads the value of every buss and calculates the average level, and this is one sample.
